I am Eco – Friendly! and a GIVEAWAY!

Well maybe I am not fully eco-friendly but I am trying to be more conscious of what I am using.

I am being more eco-friendly by …

1) I make my own laundry detergent. I use the Duggar’s recipe. (You know the Duggars – 18 Kids and Counting)You can find the recipe here.

2) I am using eco-friendly cleaners. Thanks to Jessica at Mommy Needs Coffee I won a gift certificate to the Eco-Store USA. I ended up getting

The Citrus Spray Cleaner

and

The Cream Cleanser

and

Lemongrass bar soap.

All these products work wonderfully. Even after my gift certificate money ran out I still buy it. Also, I just found out that Meijer sells Eco-Store products.

3) Make my own cleaners. I use vinegar and water to spray down counters, bathroom tile, and clean windows.

I am still looking for more ways that I can be more eco-friendly in my home.

THE GIVEAWAY PART

Even though I love my Eco-Store USA cleaning products I am willing to giveaway one bottle of the cream cleanser from my own personal stash to one lucky reader.

In order to be entered to win you have to leave a comment telling me your best eco-friendly tip.

If you want another entry … Follow Me. If you are already a follower let me know that too.

  1. I have started using cloth grocery bags. They are really handy for lots of things! I want to make some laundry soap too. I've heard to isn't really that difficult to make.

  2. Not too eco friendly here, although I would LOVE to be. Maybe today is a good time to start. I do try and buy natural products when I can, and I also use the cloth grocery bags. I'll have to check out the Duggar's recipe! Love that show!!

  4. Just hopped over here from the blogfrog. I am trying SO very hard to be eco-friendly. Other than using cloth bags or carrying my merchandise out of stores, and buying as many recycled/recylable/reusable products as I can, I have been trying the following: not turning my lights on for as much as the day as possible and instead using open/pulled up blinds, remembering that when I am in the bathroom, I don't need my bedroom light on, using a drying rack for most of my clothes and combining all of my washing loads into one drying loads...I wish I was better about saving water..I need to work on that and a lot more. Anyway, can't wait to see some other tips, use the vinegar and water trick (do you mix it in a bottle, how much water to vinegar?) and the detergent recipe! -Maria

  5. I too only use reusable grocery bags. I also do my best to follow all the "rules" to get better gas mileage. What a great giveaway!

  6. I try to be as eco friendly as I can but I am sure I could do more.

right now I eat all organic produce, use re-use able bags at the store, I made re-useable snack bags for my son for his lunch at school, I use cloth pads (I know what you are thinking) but it is really so much more comfortable and saves so much landfill space, we use bio-degradable trash bags. That all I can think of right now.

I have never used the Eco store brand but I just checked out their site and saw a bunch of stuff i want to try. thanks for the tip!
